Updates after launch
You can edit text and photos yourself in the browser for free, and changes go live right away. Or just text me. Small changes are free and usually done the same day. New pages or features get a quote up front before I start.
Maintenance
With no plugins, there's very little that can break. If something does, I get an alert on my phone before you notice, and you can always text or call me directly. No ticket queue.
Questions people ask first
- How much does a website cost?
- Sites start at $500 and I quote flat, so you get one number before any work starts and that is the number you pay. Price depends mostly on how many pages you need and whether you need anything beyond the usual, like online ordering.
- How long does it take to build a website?
- Two to four weeks for a typical small-business site, from the first call to going live. You will see a real working page within the first few days rather than waiting until the end.
- Do you work with businesses outside Eugene?
- Yes. I am based in Eugene and work throughout Springfield and Lane County, and I take remote projects anywhere. Being local just means I can come and see the shop or the truck in person, which usually beats photos over email.
- Do I own the website?
- Yes, outright. The domain is registered in your name, the code is yours, and there is no platform you are locked into. If you ever want to move it somewhere else or hand it to another developer, nothing stops you.
- Can I update the site myself?
- Yes. You get a login that lets you change text and swap photos from your browser, with no code involved. Anything bigger, send it to me and small edits are included after launch.
- Do you use WordPress, Squarespace or Wix?
- No. Every site is hand-written code. That is why they load fast and why there is no plugin stack to keep patched, no monthly platform fee, and nothing that breaks when a theme or plugin gets updated or discontinued.
- What do you need from me to get started?
- A few sentences about the business and what you want the site to do. Photos, text and a logo help if you have them, but they are not required to get a quote and we can sort them out as we go.
